Dog to follow for 2010 :- See my 10 to follow

Current favourite dog in the Kennel :- Ballymac Rumble

Favourite dog trained by someone else :- Dazzle Special trained by T V Hunwicks. She is a very progressive stayer.

Best dog you have had put a lead on :- Burnpark Champ, this lad had serious ability, it was just frustrating he kept picking up set backs.

Favourite track :- Nottingham, it is where we won our first Category 1 competition.

Early pace or strong stayer :- Room in the kennel for both but if I have to pick one it would be early pace.

Experience :- I have been around greyhound since a very young age. My father was a trainer at both Perry Barr and Norton Canes. During my teens I gained valuable experience working for Bertie Gaynor at Hall Green. After leaving school I worked for the kennel full-time until Bertie retired and returned to Ireland. I moved on to work for Bruce Jennings at Nottingham and Paddy Hancox at Hall Green.

After a period away from the sport I joined Coventry Stadium when it re-opened and through the hard work of al our team and some loyal owners we soon built our kennel strength up to over sixty dogs. Very quickly I became Coventry's leading trainer which led to us receiving an offer to join Monmore Green.

We have managed to win a number of big competitions including Centaur Allstar (Scurry), Rosshill View (Midland Flat Championship, Hall Green), Mango Tango (Maiden Derby Final, Sheffield) and Rev Counter (Betfred Eclipse, Nottingham). Other notable achievements include guiding Kanes Blue to the Blue Square Derby Semi Final and She Said No to the William Hill Puppy Derby Final.

Highest point in the sport :- When Kanes Blues reached Derby Semi Final.

Lowest point in the sport :- When Kanes Blues was eliminated from Derby Semi Final. The sport is very tough at times.

Betting highlight :- When Highview Silver won 3 Open Races in 10 days. Rye House 8/1, Coventry 6/1 and Oxford 4/1, what a week !!!

Ambition :- Like everyone in the sport to train the Derby winner.

Hobbies away from the dogs :- Watching my son’s play rugby and spending time with the family.

What 3 guests would you invite to dinner :- Harry Findlay, Barry Hearn and Tanya Stevenson.

Favourite three websites :-Greyhound Data, Irish Greyhound Board and You Tube.

What does the sport need to do to ensure it’s long term success :- Improve facilities at all tracks for the general public. Perhaps stadiums need to become part of larger schemes such as Casino’s to get more people watching the sport.
